This is nice effort but I'm worried if it's a little too much detail. Thoughts anyone else? I dunno. --The Merovingian (C - E) 16:05, 27 June 2006 (CDT)

I think it's an excellent article. --April Arcus 16:20, 27 June 2006 (CDT)
OK then. --The Merovingian (C - E) 16:22, 27 June 2006 (CDT)
Better with some categories tho :D --Mercifull (Talk/Contribs) 16:26, 27 June 2006 (CDT)

I think I'll go and cap some images. Kkimball 11:31, 29 June 2006 (CDT)

One year later, it's time to finally do this. This article would so well with come pictures and the tense needs adjusting as well. Will get to this later --Serenity 06:16, 29 June 2007 (CDT)

Unnamed Cities (mostly are Caprica City)

By simple process of elimination the City that is pictured most times damaged would be Caprica City. If you think about how the series starts and come back to. What city is the CENTER of the 12 Colonies? Which City is the Political Center of the 12 Colonies? Which city did a 50 megaton nuke detonate outside of??? The writers as well as the Cylons would want the Center of the 12 Colonies to die, yet at the same time be conquered, no enemy has ever demolished the capital. Yes, they have destroyed the fighting capability, but they would always want something to conquer. So I ask you, Can you not take the obvious thought process and see that the images of the city are from a different angle yest are from Caprica City, Even if the city is UNAMED? Logic clearly would dictate that the city skyline is that of Caprica City, I must say to say the city is "Unnamed" is a true INJUSTICE to human problem solving and the writers of the Battelstar Galactica because they thought would could see the obvious!!! Or am I wrong??? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by BSGmarine (talk • contribs).

Caprica City was taken out by a 50 megaton bomb. This was established in the Miniseries. To say that Caprica City wasn't leveled is an understatement at best. A 50 megaton bomb has a large range; the sonic shockwave alone would be enough to shatter glass throughout the city, and would have a longer range than the resultant fireball. The cities, where Helo and Boomer/Athena travel through are sparsely damaged, but abandoned. For instance, in "Bastille Day", Boomer and Helo walk through an empty city with relatively undamaged buildings. None of the windows seem to have been damaged by a sonic shockwave event, nor by a fireball, and thus, by deduction, they are well outside Caprica City. Also, Helo and the true Boomer landed nowhere near Caprica City when they set down to repair their Raptor after the sortie which claimed the lives of the squadron under Galactica's' CAG, otherwise the forest that Helo would have wandered through would have been burned to a cinder itself. Same goes for where they set down.
Also, the Cylons didn't care to preserve the capitol city; they wanted near total decimation of the human race. Fact of the matter is, the only cities they spared had religious importance, like Delphi (which housed the Arrow of Apollo). Since they didn't foresee being as victorious as they did, they never assumed that they would be so successful, and sought overkill during the initial attack. They could care less for war materiel and maintaining cities that, again, had no religious importance. -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate - Sanctuary Wiki — New 22:10, 9 September 2007 (CDT)
Caprica City is clearly gone. For what a 50 MT explosion does, you just need to look at the Russian Tzar bomba:

The bomb was dropped from an altitude of 10,500 m; it was designed to detonate at a height of 4,000 m over the land surface (4,200 m over sea level) by barometric sensors. [...] The fireball touched the ground, reached nearly as high as the altitude of the release plane, and was seen and felt 1,000 km away. The heat from the explosion could have caused third degree burns 100 km away from ground zero. The subsequent mushroom cloud was about 60 km high and 30–40 km wide. The explosion could be seen and felt in Finland, even breaking windows there. Atmospheric focusing caused blast damage up to 1,000 km away. The seismic shock created by the detonation was measurable even on its third passage around the Earth. Its Richter magnitude was about 5 to 5.25

If anything, the cities Boomer and Helo walk through are suspiciously undamaged. One would except some damage from the nukes that hit nearby cities. They also start a few hours from Caprica City, since they pick up Baltar, who was at his house at the time of the attack.
At the same time though, it's clear that they are walking through other cities. The two are on the way to Delphi which takes about one month until "Kobol's Last Gleaming". There are several episodes where they are moving through the countryside. For example when they first have sex ("Six Degrees of Separation" I think) they are in a forest-like area. In "The Hand of God" they are in horse stables. In between that they visit other cities. All the while moving towards Delphi. --Serenity 04:46, 10 September 2007 (CDT)

Combine article

Would this entry not be better on the main Caprica article? -- Frylock86 02:42PM, 9/3/2013

  • If the unnamed cities article were more concise, that would probably be a good move. Right now, though, it's pretty long, and it would end up being the biggest item (or one of the biggest) on the page. That doesn't seem proportionally appropriate. -- BlueResistance 15:33, 4 September 2013 (EDT)
