Why is every word of this title a capital? --Mercifull (Talk/Contribs) 08:25, 3 June 2007 (CDT)

Well, it made sense at the time. Blame the writers? :)--Spencerian 09:20, 3 June 2007 (CDT)

In the final episode Virtual/Angel Baltar mentions about God that "It doesn't like that name", could this be a reference to "The One Whose Name Cannot Be Spoken"? MrEvers 18:22, 23 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Now that we know that it was the Final Five Cylons who connect with the temple most, yes, this article is really another name for God (RDM). The very last revelation came from the last lines of the series. Good catch. --Spencerian 02:26, 24 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
It is a possibility that "God" is the Name That Cannot Be Spoken, but it is not certain, although it is almost certain that the being that is referenced is the same. The label "The One Whose Name Cannot Be Spoken" comes from the Book of Pythia, the text of the followers of the Lords of Kobol--people who would hardly be likely to respect the wishes of someone that they do not revere as being worthy of worship, and who is a challenge to their own faith. It may therefore be that this being had an original name other than "God," but that the followers of the Lords of Kobol found this being so antithetical that a law was made against uttering its name. Much later, others may have started calling this being "God" for whatever reason, but then the being itself disapproved of that newer label. --BlueResistance 19:42, 8 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
