Spelling of his name[edit]
I wonder why his name is spelt "Durham" here. The original pilot script, the casting sheets for 1.02/1.03, and the pronunciation on screen all suggest his name is actually Duram. --Pedda 02:58, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
- Now, this is a more solid reference. In the very opening of the first act of "Rebirth" footage of him from the press conference seen in the pilot is played with the his name blatantly spelled onscreen with the 'h'. I even said as much when I moved the page. --Mars 05:19, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
- It could also be said that the on screen chyron is wrong... like Margaret Edmondson's was in "Final Cut." -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate - Battlestar Pegasus 15:01, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
- Exactly. Besides, IMDb and Syfy.com/Caprica use Duram, too. --Pedda 09:41, 16 February 2010 (UTC)
- In the interests of further playing Devil's Advocate here: back in the day, scifi.com had Helena Cain spelled "Nelena Cain" for a while. However, as the scripts said "Duram," we should change it back to that, barring any further evidence. -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate - Battlestar Pegasus 15:42, 16 February 2010 (UTC)

- As I'm only a mover here (literally - moving an article is my highest authoritative role), it should be noted that I'm not privy to scripts and the such. I'm working relatively blind here, so that's why I moved it and I pretty much pardoned myself in the subtext of my move. You've got to give me the benefit of the doubt or whatever the adage may be. But to add sour to the sweet, I thought I'd also point out that reliance on IMDb's spelling of names is moot. These are the same nits who not only had James Marsters appearing in as early as "Rebirth", but also spelled the last name of his character as Greele, so I would stop putting stock in them as soon as possible. --Mars 21:39, 16 February 2010 (UTC)
- That's completely understandable, and we appreciate the work you do! :D Hell, I don't even have full access to Caprica stuff, even with my contacts. Further, I agree with you on IMDb, which is an iffy resource to begin with anyway. -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate - Battlestar Pegasus 23:46, 16 February 2010 (UTC)
- Just to clarify my stance: I do agree that IMDb is a very unreliable source. If it's the only site that reports something, we have been, and should continue to be, very skeptical. In this particular case, however, IMDb was one of many sites/sources all of which spelled Jordan's name without the H. By the way, this spelling is also used in the caption for a Markinson interview segment in this videoblog. --Pedda 12:27, 13 March 2010 (UTC)
- I've moved it back. -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate - Battlestar Pegasus 21:46, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
