I've been waiting for this game for months. *Wills download to go faster*

Seriously, I'll be trying this demo and hope to report as to its quality later this week. I also noticed the BtRL folks mention us in their Links section, for which I thanked them. --Catrope(Talk to me or e-mail me) 09:58, 10 April 2007 (CDT)

+1 more reason why i'm pissed that the parts for my new computer are delayed. *snarls* --Mercifull (Talk/Contribs) 10:38, 10 April 2007 (CDT)
I've been playing it since the day it came out. It is fun! --Talos 11:13, 10 April 2007 (CDT)
Yeah just finished the Demo Campaign myself....not bad for a fan made mod. The only criticism is - they should replace the text-to-speech with either a persons actual voice (ie, play a .wav) or just omit the speech, dunno about anyone else, but i found it to be distracting! -Fordsierra4x4 21:21, 10 April 2007 (CDT)
It's fun but it lags on my computer :( --BklynBruzer 23:52, 10 April 2007 (CDT)
I used to love playing Freespace2 on my old computer. Ran pretty well even on dialup lol --Mercifull (Talk/Contribs) 03:34, 11 April 2007 (CDT)

I agree that the text-to-speech should be fixed. I've only heard it a few times though: twice with "Please check your mission objectives" and once in a piece of wireless chatter. But since this is just a demo, I guess they'll fix it. --Catrope(Talk to me or e-mail me) 08:49, 12 April 2007 (CDT)

As far as I know, that is supposed to be changed later, but the VA isn't completed yet. --Talos 09:57, 12 April 2007 (CDT)

Screenshots of the game during play would prolly be ultrahelpful. DrWho42 01:59, 3 May 2007 (CDT)

Feel free to download it and add some pics yourself. I am currently unable to download the game. --Mercifull (Talk/Contribs) 03:06, 3 May 2007 (CDT)

The Cylotron is made up for BtRL. It's basically a ship used to train new pilots in the Pegasus training simulator, and it has lots of sensors to aid training. I think it looks an old Cylon raider. (The previous comments are subject to memory). Anyway, the usage in the article is correct if a little unclear :) FredTheDeadHead 14:56, 14 June 2007 (CDT)

Ok. I suspected something like that. Just wanted to make sure that it isn't some weird typo :) --Serenity 14:57, 14 June 2007 (CDT)
I'm glad to have helped :) FredTheDeadHead 14:58, 14 June 2007 (CDT)
I believe it's spelled Cyclotron (also subject to memory), so I changed that. --Catrope(Talk to me or e-mail me) 15:16, 14 June 2007 (CDT)
A cyclotron is a circular particle accelerator. Maybe it's supposed to be "Cylotron" (as a kind of pun on that). Not sure though. --Serenity 15:19, 14 June 2007 (CDT)
You appear to be right. The official site calls it "Cylotron", without the c. I was already wondering why the spelling checker didn't mark cyclotron... --Catrope(Talk to me or e-mail me) 15:31, 14 June 2007 (CDT)

Vista Madness

I currently have, (by the fracking hand of fickle fate), Vista installed on my computer, and the download for the demo doesn't seem to be working. Any suggestions?Pentagonal Deception 23:58, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

Did you download and install the patches as well? If not, try that. Other than that, I'd recommend getting in touch with them via their forum, and see what other Vista users have to say. -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate - Battlestar Pegasus 00:00, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
No joy. I downloaded the patches, but there's some technical mumbo-jumbo that says Windows does not know what program to run the file with. *sigh* Guess I'll just have to wait until I can get that laptop I've been wanting.......Pentagonal Deception 00:45, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
Ok, are you trying to open the zip file? Or can you do that successfully? -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate - Battlestar Pegasus 00:57, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
No, the zip file opens successfully. I installed everything without a hitch, up to the point when I attempt to download the actual demo. The file saves to my desktop, but when I click on it, the problems start. Windows prompts me to search the internet for whatever it needs to run, but comes up with nothing.Pentagonal Deception 01:07, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
Odd, because it's an executable... What I would do is get in touch with someone on the BtRL forums, or do a search there, to see if people are having similar problems. They may even have a work around. -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate - Battlestar Pegasus 01:24, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the help, I'll check it out. Hopefully, I'll find something, but if not, oh well.Pentagonal Deception 01:32, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

Dead links

It seems that Freecom2 and official site links don't work anymore. --LIMAFOX76 15:51, 28 June 2011 (EDT)
