List of "Former"...

The use of the word "former" seems to infer that they had worked on "Battlestar Galactica" before working on projects as Babylon 5 and Stargate SG-1. Any thoughts on whether a name-change for these articles would be more fitting or not? DrWho42 14:01, 8 November 2007 (CST)

Actually, I've always felt that the "former" modifier could go both ways, and it's always been in the context of Battlestar Galactica and not vice-versa. Of course, I can't come up with any solutions for a better name (if there is one at all), so I feel that "former" will have to do. -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate - Sanctuary Wiki — New 16:01, 8 November 2007 (CST)

Straying a bit?

While I can understand association pages, where do we stop in the creation of cast/crew pages for shows? Is there a reason why we make these pages? Why do we add Babylon 5 but not Buck Rogers, or Lost in Space, or Twilight Zone, or even non-SF stuff like All in the Family? There's a certain disquieting air of trivia here, which, as an encyclopedia, we might want to reconsider. Using interwiki links on actor/crew articles and keeping our simple categories for former cast and crew members should be all there is to do. I don't mind the notion of an actor/crew article listing everything they've done since that is relevant to the specific article, but creating an index page for this stuff serves the related subject matter (the other shows) more than the show we specialize on for the wiki (Battlestar). Thoughts? --Spencerian 01:56, 24 November 2007 (CST)

I think lists for (uncontested) major science fiction productions, such as Star Trek and Star Wars are fine. I think a list of Babylon 5 actors (the few there are) jumps passes the red line when it comes to these sort of things. I wouldn't mind a general list of Canadian science fiction actors, American science fiction actors, etc. Beyond Star Trek and Star Wars, I think we can condense all the other lists for minor shows such as Dark Angel, Babylon 5, et al. into corresponding lists for Canadian SF and American SF actors. -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate - Sanctuary Wiki — New 02:10, 24 November 2007 (CST)
The Babylon 5 list is definitely going too far and unnecessary. I can barely see listing other shows shot in Vancouver, since they necessarily use the same pool of actors, but B5 doesn't need an article just because it happens to be another SciFi show. Joe's of a general actor list has merit. Then the list could only name the show and not get bogged down in which episodes specifically they appeared. --Serenity 07:19, 24 November 2007 (CST)
