Recon Viper Three is the callsign for a Colonial Viper piloted by Lieutenant Starbuck, who uses the craft in search of missing Blue Squadron pilots.
History
editDuring an engagement with Cylons during his search, Starbuck's Viper is shot down and crashes on a desolate planet ((Comics: Masquerade)).[1] Injured amidst the wreckage, Starbuck uses his communicator to send a distress call to Galactica. In the transmission, he identifies his downed craft by its callsign: "This is Recon Viper Three to Galactica... request emergency aid immediately... pilot down... respond please..." ((Comics: Masquerade)).[2]
The distress call is intercepted as a Cylon Centurion surprises Starbuck from a cave he passes and attacks ((Comics: Masquerade)).[3]
