Should this article be re-written?
As I'm reading this article, there is a definite problem which I have seen crop up. There is the underlying assumption that Number Six is real; since, at best, this claim is nebulous, I believe that this page should be re-written to factor this in. - I also have a problem with the whole incident involving Sharon's test. I think it's a plot hole that Baltar went from merely "Holy frak there's a Cylon in the room with me and if I tell her she's a Cylon she'll kill me" to "I'm not going to tell anyone that Sharon, a key member of the crew responsible for protecting the Fleet against Cylons and hey, probably the person who set those charges onboard Galactica a couple months back, is a Cylon. Not going to tell anyone, even now that she's out of the room. Now That I've locked the door. Now that I've got a perfectly secure line to Commander Adama. - He's self-serving more than pious any day of the week. The whole God thing was *never* consistent from episode to episode, and I don't see how revealing the fact that Sharon is a Cylon later than sooner would do anything besides making him criminally complacent. Not to mention he'd have to ignore the fact that she was probably the one running around blowing up parts of the Galactica months earlier, and being as self-serving as he is, she being a Cylon represents a danger, not an asset. --David Templar 15:56, 31 March 2006 (CST)
- The thing is while Baltar personally believes he's caught somewhere in between the Cylons and Humanity, his actions have always been those that favour them, whether "Six" is just a manifestation of his own psychosis or something else she has consistently led him to decisions that favour the Cylon agenda, indeed prior to Season three the only action Baltar takes at all that isn't in their overall interests is the shooting of Crashdown, who at the time represented a direct and immediate threat to Baltar himself Useless 10:48, 16 November 2006 (CST)
- Er, Crashdown. Racetrack is alive and well. Though that was a pretty neutral (and self-serving) move. Shooting the (nominal) leader of the expedition might be interpreted as being pro-Cylon, but looking at the situation reveals it to be more complicated than that. - which just strengthens my point, this is the only case pre season 3 where Baltar actively does anything that even arguably doesn't aid the Cylons, and even this isn't clear cut. No longer operable
I removed a claim that the cylon detector built by Dr. Baltar no longer works as he donated the nuke to the cylon infiltrators in the fleet. The detector was used on Bulldog, after the detonation of Baltar's nuke. Therefore it is only fair to assume that it still works. Thorn 13:26, 25 January 2007 (CST)
- That's not specified. It is Cottle that verifies that Bulldog is not a Cylon. While Cottle's ability to check Bulldog may be based on Baltar's work, Cottle has had a long time to study Cylon physiology and has likely found the trace differences. The Cylon detector required the nuke as well as Baltar's expertise in running it (no other character was shown using it). It is most probable that Cottle handles this task for the Fleet now. --Spencerian 09:08, 29 March 2007 (CDT)
Does it work on Final Five?
Tyrol was almost tested in Season 2 when Boomer was first outed, but do we know of it being used on any final five? Rocky8311
- No episodes I'm aware of indicate that any of these characters have been checked in any way. However, do note that the Final Four are "fundamentally different" Cylons, in the words of Ron Moore, and previous definitions of what a humanoid Cylon is may not apply to them. What is noted in this article, and what we know of what constitutes a Cylon, is now in disarray until season 4 clears it up. --Spencerian 09:08, 29 March 2007 (CDT)

- From the article for "Tigh Me Up, Tigh Me Down", "Later, back in Baltar’s lab, Ellen’s test results come through and are apparently green. Baltar, however simply states to Six that having everything turn up green makes life a lot easier." So no empirical information can be drawn from that test, because we can't be sure about the true results.-- Fredmdbud 07:01, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
