Barry Garner is a Colonial officer on Battlestar Pegasus prior to the deaths of Admiral Helena Cain and Colonel Jack Fisk. Before his promotion, he was an engineer.
Barry Garner is the third officer to assume command of Battlestar Pegasus after the ship was integrated in Admiral William Adama's Fleet. He assumed command after the suspect death of Colonel Jack Fisk (The Captain's Hand).
Despite Garner's lack of command insight when jumping to recover Raptors 718 and 314, he died a rather heroic death by sealing the oxygen leak causing a pressure drop in Pegasus's engineering section. The emergency repair allowed the Pegasus engineering crew to repair the ships FTL drive, thus escaping a hopeless battle.
