Rigel (TOS-BN)

Rigel serves as Flight Officer aboard Galactica and is responsible for conducting launch countdowns. She demonstrates her professional competence during the SuperViper test flight, where she conducts the countdown sequence with a "quiet and confident voice" that Apollo listens to through his commline.

Later in the crisis, when a Cylon sabotage attack disables Galactica's engines, Rigel serves as the communication link between the bridge and Commander Adama during the emergency. When Colonel Tigh is not present on the bridge, Rigel reports directly to Adama, informing him that "the explosion seems to have been a bomb. Sabotage in the engineering section, it appears."

During the subsequent battle, Rigel coordinates the launch of the SuperViper for its combat mission, where Apollo and Starbuck deploy in the SuperViper to engage the attacking Cylon forces.

Rigel also handles routine communications, including Captain Apollo's requests for orders, demonstrating her role as a key bridge communications officer during both normal operations and crisis situations.
