A Little Help?
This article could use a soundbite of that main theme music as used in "Final Cut". --Spencerian 13:32, 23 May 2007 (CDT)
- A friend of mine has the OST, I'll ask him to send it to me and I'll upload it. --Catrope(Talk to me or e-mail me) 13:41, 23 May 2007 (CDT)
- Done --Catrope(Talk to me or e-mail me) 14:23, 23 May 2007 (CDT)
A question Serenity raised in his self-deleted reply: is this legal? Does including a 4-minute piece from the OST qualify as fair use? Whom of us is qualified to make that assessment? --Catrope(Talk to me or e-mail me) 14:37, 23 May 2007 (CDT)
- Well, I'm not sure and it's probably shady, but do we really need the whole 4 minutes? Just the start of the track would be fine for illustration purposes. --Serenity 14:50, 23 May 2007 (CDT)
- I agree on the legality; shouldn't have the whole thing. Just the first 15-20 seconds. Using the "Final Cut" version would be more germane than the TOS original soundtrack, if one can get it. --Spencerian 17:38, 23 May 2007 (CDT)
- The one on the soundtrack is an extended version of the "Final Cut" music. It has the slow beginning, but then launches into a longer version of the TOS theme. Personally I prefer the TNS style TOS music - which sounds really great - to the overblown orchestra though. --Serenity 18:57, 23 May 2007 (CDT)
- I agree that 20-30 seconds is enough. Can someone with sound editing software download (right-click->Save as...) the MP3 and upload a cut version with only the first 20-30 seconds? TIA --Catrope(Talk to me or e-mail me) 07:33, 24 May 2007 (CDT)
- Working on it... --Spencerian 09:23, 24 May 2007 (CDT)
