- The Sci Fi Channel has confirmed that the fourth season of Battlestar Galactica will be increased from its initial request of 13 episodes to 22 episodes, with a special two-hour extended episode to air during the fourth quarter of 2007. The extended episode will be released later on DVD.[1] In an interview by Salon magazine, Ronald D. Moore revealed that the special 2-hour episode will be a story set on the battlestar Pegasus. Even though the episode will be a backstory, it will have implications for Season 4.
