Scott Augustine is a Canadian actor, dancer, and choreographer who portrayed a Male Dancer at Mysteries in Caprica's "Ghosts in the Machine".

Career

Augustine grew up in the lower mainland of British Columbia.[external 1] His career has encompassed work in contemporary dance, musical theatre, film, television, and choreography.[external 2]

Dance

Augustine performed for seven seasons with Wen Wei Dance, a Vancouver-based contemporary company, and also worked with Company 605, Move, and Radical System Arts.[external 3] These engagements led to performances at dance festivals in Canada, the United States, and Europe.[external 3] He later worked with Decidedly Jazz Danceworks.[external 4]

Augustine served as a principal dancer for the grand opening of Tokyo Disney Sea's show "Encore!" in Tokyo, Japan.[external 1] He was also a principal tapper for the opening ceremonies of the 2010 Vancouver Olympics.[external 1]

Musical Theatre

Augustine has performed in musical theatre productions with the Vancouver Playhouse and Arts Club Theatre Company.[external 2] He played Riff in Vancouver Opera's production of West Side Story.[external 2]

Film and Television

Augustine's first principal acting role was Dan Guilford in Once in a Blue Moon (1995).[external 5] His film credits include Gold Diggers: The Secret of Bear Mountain (1995), Dudley Do-Right (1999), and Code Name: The Cleaner (2007).[external 5]

His television work includes Reefer Madness: The Movie Musical (2005) and Once Upon a Mattress (2005).[external 5] More recent credits include Good Boys (2019) and stunt work on The Last of Us (2023).[external 5]

Choreography

Augustine has worked as a choreographer for theatre, film, television, and commercials.[external 2] His theatre choreography includes "Oliver!" for the Vancouver Playhouse and "Once" for the Arts Club Theatre.[external 4] He has also contributed choreography to productions with Wen Wei Dance.[external 4]

For film, Augustine served as assistant choreographer for ballet in Center Stage: Turn It Up (2008).[external 6] He has choreographed work for television productions including "Magicians", "A Series of Unfortunate Events", and "Once Upon a Time".[external 4]

Augustine has collaborated with choreographers from So You Think You Can Dance, including Stacey Tookey, Adam Shankman, Paul Becker, and R.J. Durell.[external 1] He has also worked with Kathleen Marshall, Suzi Taylor, Patti Columbo, Lisa Stevens, and Simone Orlando.[external 1]

Teaching

Augustine is on the teaching faculty for Groove Street Productions and has served as a guest instructor for dance intensives across Canada.[external 1]
