Welcome to Battlestar Wiki![edit]
Greetings, Sabaceanbabe, and welcome to Battlestar Wiki! I'm pleased to tell you that you have full editing privileges on every wiki in the Battlestar Wiki network. I hope you enjoy your stay with us and am looking forward to your contributions to the Wiki! Why not begin by telling us a bit about yourself on your own user page?
As you may already know, Battlestar Wiki covers all the Battlestar Galactica series from past to present, in addition to authorized merchandise and separate continuity materials such as comics and tie-in novels. We do not cover fan fiction. We're also not a discussion site, although we do have an ever-growing Facebook presence where people can discuss the various shows and non-BSG topics as well!
To get started on the wiki, we suggest that you check out our tutorial, experiment in the sandbox (a test editing area for those learning wiki code), and review some of our basic policies (which have important differences from other SF wikis). For some general questions and answers about the navigation and operation of the Wiki, check out the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ).
Of course, if you have any questions, comments, or concerns, you are more than welcome to bring them up at the Chiefs' noticeboard (which is frequented by the administrators of the Wiki) and at the Galactipedians' Quorum (which is the hub for contributors, who are called "Galactipedians").
Furthermore, if you don't wish to see the ads, then please consider upgrading your account to a paid membership, which costs only $10 USD a year and helps support the wiki financially. We think this is very cool, and we hope you do as well!
Thank you for joining us! Hope to see you soon! -- ~~~~

I welcome you, Sabaceanbabe, to our Source of all BSG information. Long have you served with distinction on the messageboards. It is good to see you again. --The Merovingian (C - E) 20:04, 22 March 2006 (CST)
Fanfic Article?[edit]
Welcome to the wiki! I immediately associated your name with fanfic, having (I believe) seen you post such work to the skiffy board. We have little to no fanfic info here on the wiki. While directly hosting fanfic would likely be incompatible with the wiki's mission (in terms of the encylopedic part, as well as the fact that postings here should be under the Creative Commons license), what could be useful is an article with links to fanfic. A categorized list of fanfic links seems to be something that people occasionally request on the boards, and the wiki format would be conducive to people keeping such a list current. It could also maybe have brief summaries/reviews if that would be useful. Just a brainstorm. If you're interested in such an undertaking, but need assistance, just drop me a note on my user page. I'm sure any other admin (or the Vigilant One) would be glad to help. --Steelviper 11:46, 6 April 2006 (CDT)
- Okay, I *think* I may have this thing figured out.
- Thank you for the kind welcome. Yes, I do have kind of a thing for fanfic. ;) If this reply to your message works, I'll wander over to your user page and see if I can manage to post a substantive reply there, in regard to a fanfic article. Sabaceanbabe 15:47, 6 April 2006 (CDT)SabaceanBabe
- I replied over there, and went ahead and created Fan fiction in case you wanted to start on it. --Steelviper 16:19, 6 April 2006 (CDT)
- Odd...I thought I was the Dark One. Regardless. SabaceanBabe, we don't add fanfic stuff, yeah, but do you have a website where you have it printed up? Because we do have "fan community links" on the front page (currently titled "fan stuff"), and I think we do post links to fansites and stuff (we just don't archive it). But the more links to stuff the better. We're trying to be the central node of all internet BSG information. --The Merovingian (C - E) 15:08, 6 April 2006 (CDT)
- Hi, Mero! You don't mind if I call you Mero, do you? I do have several sites where I archive my fanfic and where those interested in such a thing can find the works of myself and others. If you'd like, I can see if I can figure out how to post those links to the appropriate article... Sabaceanbabe 15:50, 6 April 2006 (CDT)
- Yay! Well get a list up and we'll tinker around with it. I guess I prefer "Merv" as that's how they shortened it in the movie. --The Merovingian (C - E) 17:12, 6 April 2006 (CDT)

Helo/Racetrack[edit]
OMG. Leah Cairns worked your fanfic into her backstory. I'm adding some notes on this; would you like to touch them up? --The Merovingian (C - E) 10:30, 30 June 2006 (CDT)
- Would you like me to set up your user page with an character box? --The Merovingian (C - E) 23:02, 8 July 2006 (CDT)
