According to a scene cut from the episode "Valley of Darkness, Brenik was a Colonial ship which was boarded by Cylon forces during the second year of the Cylon War. The Brenik was apparently a small vessel, with a crew of approximately 75, only 20 of whom survived the attack. Then-Petty Officer Saul Tigh was among the survivors, at that time a teenager serving as gunner's mate.
