The Mercury was presumably the first Mercury-class battlestar to be launched and possible sister ship to the Pegasus.

Notes

  • Mercury is the Roman god of trade, profit and commerce; similar to the Greek god of Hermes. Since the Colonials mainly believe in gods of a Greek nature, it begs the question of how the name became known to -- or derived by -- the Colonials.
