Statue of Hera

Colonial Mythology[edit]

Hera, Lord of Kobol watched Athena commit suicide by throwing herself from a mountain, in desapir over the exodus of the Thirteen Tribes of Man. The point Athena fell from is now referred to as the Gates of Hera. The Gates mark the entrance to the Tomb of Athena on Kobol.

Greek Mythology[edit]

Hera is the wife and sister of Zeus, and Queen of the Gods. She is the goddess of marraige. Hera hated the great hero Hercules since he was the son of her husband Zeus and a mortal woman. Hera set in motion the events which led to Hercules' Twelve Labors.

In Greek mythology, Hera was the reigning female goddess of Olympus because she was Zeus's wife. It was been surmised that her worship is actually far older than that of her husband. It goes back to a time when the creative force we call "God" was conceived of as a woman.
