If yes, he is announcing the destruction of the Resurrection Ship. He is only identified by name in the extended version, so I guess people just couldn't place him in the other episodes and assumed his scenes got cut. --[[User:Serenity|Serenity]] 16:52, 9 September 2007 (CDT)

Revision as of 21:54, 9 September 2007

I'm going to hazard a guess that Freaker was cut from the episode, similar to what happened to Hoshi in Pegasus.--Ltcrashdown 18:14, 8 January 2006 (EST)

Viper pilot?

Where is Firelli mentioned as a Viper pilot? Since he mainly seems to be a CIC person, I'm going to remove the reference, until we can obtain something more definitive. -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate 00:41, 29 September 2006 (CDT)

Damn you, Joe. That was bugging me when I was watching the extended Pegasus last night, and I thought "I'm gonna go post something bout this on the wiki." But noooo, you had to beat me to it :( --Madbrood 05:03, 29 September 2006 (CDT)
LOL! Anytime. :-) Yeah, the Firelli thing was driving me somewhat up the wall when I was rewatching the extended version of Pegasus, prior to going to bed last night (or early this morning, as it turns out). Also, thanks for clarifying the "dress and cover" term on List of terms (RDM), since I'm not really a military expert. -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate 10:15, 29 September 2006 (CDT)
No problem at all. I was a member of the drill team in the Army Cadets, and while it wasn't one of our official commands, w used "dress and cover" quite a bit. Don't know where we got it from though :) --Madbrood 13:02, 29 September 2006 (CDT)
In the Army, we use dress and cover as meaning "get properly placed in a formation." It comes from two commands "Dress right, dress," which means aligning with the person to your right, all the way down to the squad leader. "Cover" means alligning in ranks behind the person in front of you. With both dress and cover, everyone is in a (hopefully) perfectly spaced formation. --Talos 13:06, 29 September 2006 (CDT)
So, exactly what we used it for in the cadets :) Thanks for clarifying that, Talos. --Madbrood 13:24, 29 September 2006 (CDT)
OMG. "Freaker?!" A handful of ideas for the origin of his name, some of them good for the female crew, none of them good for captured female Cylon agents (unless he's really good) come to mind. Thorne's "second," maybe? Ew. Maybe it's best NOT to explore this one. --Spencerian 10:37, 29 September 2006 (CDT)
Well, I made my suggestion for the origin of his name below. I'm just hoping that it's correct and not because he's good at...anything else. ^_^;;;--み使い Mitsukai 00:44, 21 October 2006 (CDT)

Callsign vs. Nickname

Since it is clear that Firelli is a CIC tactical officer, the issue over what "Freaker" is seems to have come up. I believe it to be a nickname, but a few seem to believe it to be a callsign. Thoughts? -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate 00:13, 21 October 2006 (CDT)

It could very well be a nickname instead of a callsign. I made the mistake of assuming it was a callsign, based on the fact that "Freaker" is a (likely) reference to frequencies, something natural for an ECO of a Raptor. However, since he may be a communications officer (not tactical), "Freaker" may be what the Colonials call their comm folks, much as US Sailors call their ITs "Sparky". I'll admit I probably need to rewatch the ep again to confirm he's a CIC officer and not a flight officer, but ultimately based on my conjecture above callsign or nickname are both plausible.--み使い Mitsukai 00:38, 21 October 2006 (CDT)
