This page highlights the official spoiler policy of the Battlestar Wiki.
Overview
Quite simply, no special warnings will be provided for spoiler information.
The only warning is on our Main Page. Everything else is considered fair game.
Reasoning
The issue with giving spoiler warnings can be summed up into the following numbered list:
- Different people have watched different episodes: thus one man's spoiler is another man's already known information.
- The purpose of this wiki is to provide objective and insightful information regarding the series and related information.
- Spoiler-warnings require that information be split up into sections. For instance, anything dealing with Sharon Valerii would have to be segmented based on episodes, thus damaging the flow of the article text.
This site is an information resource. It is meant to be used to research ideas, events, people and places after watching an episode. Therefore, we believe that people are responsible enough to police themselves.
Exceptions
The only exception is on the Main Page. At the requests of viewers, the main page has been segmented into two halves: spoiler-free and spoiler-included. By default, the spoiler-free page is the "official" main page; those wanting the quick-spoilers can visit the spoiler-included page.
