: Hi Joe<br/>As I can see on the German wiki, it seems that you can build different VM servers (PHP and SQL versions are different on each). All the specifics for the French wiki are <span class="plainlinks">[http://fr.battlestarwiki.ddns.net/index.php/Sp%C3%A9cial:Version here]</span>. The MediaWiki release is the last production version as I'm using Git to update it regularly, switching branch when necessary. I'm running a server with Debian GNU Linux, version 9.9, almost ready to switch on the last release. I use command line to update it. The database is MariaDB (vs MySQL on yours) but that shouldn't be an issue. If you are ready to build a specific VM for the French wiki, I can handle it to put that on line (with your permission of course).--[[User:LIMAFOX76|LIMAFOX76]] ([[User talk:LIMAFOX76|talk]]) 03:27, 19 July 2019 (PDT) | |||

Welcome to Battlestar Wiki!
Greetings, LIMAFOX76, and welcome to Battlestar Wiki! I'm pleased to tell you that you have full editing privileges on every wiki in the Battlestar Wiki network. I hope you enjoy your stay with us and am looking forward to your contributions to the Wiki! Why not begin by telling us a bit about yourself on your own user page?
As you may already know, Battlestar Wiki covers all the Battlestar Galactica series from past to present, in addition to authorized merchandise. Presently, we don't cover fan fiction, but our sister-site, Battlestar Pegasus, does so. We're also not a discussion site, although we do have an ever-growing Battlestar Forum where people can discuss the various shows and non-BSG topics as well!
To get started on the wiki, we suggest that you check out our tutorial, experiment in the sandbox (a test editing area for those learning wiki code), and review some of our basic policies (which have important differences from other SF wikis). For some general questions and answers about the navigation and operation of the Wiki, check out the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ).
Of course, if you have any questions, comments, or concerns, you are more than welcome to bring them up at the Chiefs' noticeboard (which is frequented by the administrators of the Wiki) and at the Galactipedians' Quorum (which is the hub for contributors, who are called "Galactipedians").
Furthermore, if you don't wish to see the ads, then please consider upgrading your account to a paid membership, which costs only $10 USD a year and helps support the wiki financially. This membership also extends to the Battlestar Forum, where you can talk to other members about the show and most anything that you want to talk about to BSG fans! We think this is very cool, and we hope you do as well!
Thank you for joining us! Hope to see you soon! --Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate - Battlestar Pegasus 19:19, 7 October 2009 (UTC)
Block?
"Salut Facy, Juste une petite question comme ça, as-tu accès au wiki indépendant d'Escyos ? J'ai comme l'impression qu'il a verrouillé l'accès sur mon adresse IP, j'ai une erreur 403, accès interdit. Peux-tu me le confirmer STP. Merci."
Why yes, I have blocked you, and will continue to block all IP addresses from France until you go somewhere else to steal original content. That previous person you talked to with my name was not me, yet you still block and attack me. Escyos 07:17, 25 May 2011 (EDT)
- What is this all about? -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate 09:34, 25 May 2011 (EDT)
- Hi Joe,
Sorry for the answer's delay. This "no discussion" is about the english Stargate Wiki hub on Shoutwiki founded by Escyos. During the ShoutWiki outage, Escyos decided by his own to create his own independant Stargate Wiki (no problem for that of course) and to move on. He wanted to mass delete the ShoutWiki hub without asking the Stargate Wiki contributors. I asked Jack Phoenix (ShoutWiki staff) to grant me steward rights to save the Stargate wiki on SW (I'm already the founder of the French Stargate wiki). Following that, the day Escyos decided to leave SW, he provoked me by critising my work. My cold answer didn't pleased him so he decided to block me, remove my admin rights, block my user page and use verbal abuse on my user page without any possibility to defend myself. Then, he started to vandalize the SW Stargate Wiki by nuking all my contributions and all the site's. ShoutWiki Staff blocked and banned him for all SW sites for verbal abuse and vandalism. Since that moment. Escyos is blocking all my IP addresses (and not only mine) on his wiki because he thinks I'm making a conspiracy theory about him by stealing material from his wiki. Here's the story. So he tries to reach me and harrass me by all means, including Battlestar Wiki. Don't worry about that and thank for your concern. --LIMAFOX76 12:55, 28 May 2011 (EDT)

- Once again, THAT WAS NOT ME! I was hacked, big time. You think a little revertable vandalism is bad, I actually have people here (in real life) who hate me because they think I wrote all the stuff that hacker did. And I block you because you seem to want to steal content because you can't come up with anything original on your own with NO admittance of where it came from or any recognition. I frankly don't care if you want to take MY great ideas but would want recognition of where it came from. Escyos 14:53, 28 May 2011 (EDT)
- Please take this off the Battlestar Wiki, it has nothing to do with us. Thank you. -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate 15:03, 28 May 2011 (EDT)
Admin Status on Media Repository

Editing
Hi LIMAFOX76 ... thank you for taking care of my accidental deletion edit on Racetrack - nice to see other people interested in the same pages as I am - see you around -- Flatulist 21:52, 17 April 2012 (EDT)
Escyos Issue
Over the past 3 weeks I have blocked 7 IP addresses from France, by your logic I assume it is you and thus will tell people that you are a wiki vandal. So next time you want to besmirch my name, make sure you are actually talking about me. Its not like it is impossible to route your computer through an IP address in another country.... Escyos 16:30, 4 May 2012 (EDT)
- I don't trust you and you can tell wathever you want as you're a liar, a sockpuppeter, a pretender and, most of all, a vandal. You don't have anything to do with me and nothing to do with this wiki. The IP addresses you blocked are not mine. --LIMAFOX76 17:13, 4 May 2012 (EDT)
- And like you I have no proof that those IP addresses were you so I chose to believe that they are in fact you. This is a two way street. Escyos 17:18, 4 May 2012 (EDT)
- I'm really fed up of these. I didn't do anything against you, yet you're harrassing me for over a year now! I'm wasting my time with you, I'm wasting my energy to fix all the things right. You made a conspiracy theory around me for no reason. Live your life, leave me alone, and it will better for both of us, clearly. --LIMAFOX76 03:08, 5 May 2012 (EDT)
- And like you I have no proof that those IP addresses were you so I chose to believe that they are in fact you. This is a two way street. Escyos 17:18, 4 May 2012 (EDT)
- And Im fed up with you spreading lies about me and attempting to access my site obviously for the purposes of vandalism. I too am wasting energy having to track down all the lies you spread, based simply from an IP address in the same country as me. Thats the stupidest reason I have ever heard, you do know that vandals come from pretty much anywhere and do pretty much anything. Escyos 04:11, 5 May 2012 (EDT)
- Do really believe I want to vandalize your wiki? I really don't give a shit about your wiki. All I can say is that you're able to vandalize yourself a wiki as you're regularly doing it on Wikia (which I don't like either, but I do not vandalize). Don't say no, you write your facts on your wiki. I'm 43 and really, I have many other fishes to catch than pirating and hacking a wiki. --LIMAFOX76 04:22, 5 May 2012 (EDT)
- I am just doing the same as you and wildly assuming with no facts at all. Wikia deserves to be vandalised, they flaunt their control. Your wiki is nothing but inadequate excuse for competition. The simple fact is YOU are blaming me for NOTHING and thus you too deserve to take the blame for everything I see fit until you realize how stupid your actions really are. - Your "preuve concluante" is an IP address from the same country. You continue to spread lies about me, when I have done nothing to you. You are pathetic and so is your wiki. Escyos 07:31, 6 May 2012 (EDT)
Escyos: This is your final warning: cease and desist in discussing this on our Wiki. As I've asked you over a year ago (see my statement two sections above), I feel that you have done very little other than interrupt our operations and become obscenely confrontational to anyone who has a different opinion or viewpoint other than your own. Having experienced this first hand from you, I feel that you aren't really here to contribute to the Wiki, but to pester LIMAFOX because of his Stargate Wiki, and thus you have actually no intention of helping this project. Furthermore, you persist in bringing issues that, frankly, do not concern anyone here on the Battlestar Wiki. If you have a problem with LIMAFOX, take it up direct with him via e-mail. The Battlestar Wiki is not the place to mediate your dispute. I will give you one last warning on this: if you continue this fight on this wiki, I will permanently ban you from the Battlestar Wiki. -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate 11:43, 6 May 2012 (EDT)
Lets get the wiki family back together
Lets try to get the wiki family back together by reloading the French language wiki here on battlestarwiki.org. Your work to create pages on your personal server is fab and we want that passion back here.
Secondly can we talk about using your modified Vector theme here on this wiki while work on a responsive design continues?

- Hi Matt,
I don't want to be independent at all and would be more than happy to have the French BW back on the main domain. For the record, I used to be the admin/b-crat of the fr before we lost most of all the pages in a first time (database crash), and after that the main site crash. The only point is, I use some extensions on my personal server that are not (yet) on the main wiki, and of course would like to have them here (but I cannot put it on this server with my own free will). I will send you the LocalSettings.php code on your email for the example. - Regarding the Vector skin, I use the MediaWiki:Vector.css page to define the style and the corner cuts, bullets and fading effects are from pictures used with CSS3 (paths on the css script). But I think it would be more efficient to duplicate the main skin (Vector of Timeless) folder and write the changes directly in the source code and add the images directly in the folder. Cheers! --LIMAFOX76 (talk) 08:23, 18 July 2019 (PDT)
