Hi, there. Hopefully you don't feel like you're jumped on each time you write something; my personal apologies if you do. The Battlestar Wiki has pretty established purposes and guidelines, and they can get complex in some places. Have you had opportunity to read a few key [[BW:SAC|guidelines]] and [[BW:CJ|policies]]? Or have you found the [[BW:TUT|tutorial]] any help? Any contributor here, especially the [[BW:AN|administrators]], who are all fairly veteran contributors, will be happy to answer any questions you have so you can feel comfortable when adding a contribution. It's best to ask questions on our [[BW:AN|administrator's noticeboard]] where we will all see the question, rather than our personal talk pages (unless you feel comfortable writing to just one of us). :Yeah, I hope you don't feel treated unjust or that you did something terribly wrong, since this is the second time an article of yours might be deleted. We have guidelines and policies here, and there is certainly a preferred way to do everything. All that is explained somewhere, but it's also so much that it can be overwhelming. Even most of the admins made one or the other error when they started out, and we still make errors. Since everything can be changed, it's no big deal if you aren't angry about losing any work or if there's something you'd rather see done another way (I know that feeling :) ).
:I second the suggestion to look at the major articles (like the Twelve Colonies and Cylon series) to get an impression of how things are done and what articles exist and which ones don't (though most major topics are probably covered). If you have an idea for an article that's really new, maybe bring up it up on some talk page first - though if you are sure about it, you don't have to. Otherwise feel free to add to existing ones. Grammar or style will probably still be edited, but with time you should learn from it. And noone expects you to get every little detail right from the start. Thank you, i was feeling a little annoyed but i do understand that things are run in a set way. When i get it wrong in the futur, and i'm sure i will as i learn, please would you explain excatly what i've done wrong and how to do it right. Thanks. :Usually, severe reverts will be explained on the user's talk page like I did above (with the simms article). That I didn't give my reasons for adding the deletion tag about "Humans" might have been an error, but I knew that some sort of discussion would ensue, even if you didn't ask. But yeah, I probably should have explained it right away. With small errors, like style edits, you might find an explanation in the edit summary or you can see the change by comparing the edits (click on an article's "history" or on "diff" in Recent Changes).

Welcome to Battlestar Wiki!

Welcome to the Wiki, Kittenmaia. Tell us about yourself on your user page. We have a template that lets you put some information about yourself in a nice-looking box.

Battlestar Wiki is an encyclopedia on officially-licensed stories, aired episodes, and other products of the Battlestar universes. Make sure that your contributions fit Battlestar Wiki's purpose, avoiding what we aren't.

Our editing standards and conventions policies may differ from other wikis, especially in verb tense and voice, capitalization and the like. Please read this policy. We have an editing tutorial and wiki markup codes to help you.

Our policies on original research differ from places such as Wikipedia. We allow some research based on aired episode content, but don't allow speculation that isn't supported from episode events. Battlestar Wiki does not allow fan fiction articles.

Battlestar Wiki's many projects help improve our content. Are you an Original Series fan? Help out in the Original Series Article Project. Non-English versions of Battlestar Wiki also need contributors, and helpers for our podcast transcriptions are also welcome. New projects should be brought to our Think Tank, where we hash out large-scale ideas before implementing them.

Any questions about an article can be entered on the article's talk page. General questions about the wiki can be brought to the Quorum or the administrators' noticeboard. Please sign your posts on any talk page by simply entering four tildes (~~~~), which will be automatically replaced with your name and a time stamp.

Remember that talk pages are for questions about the article connected to that talk page, and aren't for long discussions about the show. To chat as much as you'd like about the show (or other topics), why not set up a free account on the Battlestar Forum bulletin board?

As Serenity noted, Battlestar Wiki is designed as a resource of content officially seen in licensed works, but there is BattlestarPegasus.com, which offers an audience for fan fiction. You can also try Battlestar Galactica Online, another repository. If you've noted something about simulators as noted in either Re-imagined Series or Original Series episodes, feel free to update our articles on Computers in the Re-imagined Series#Viper Flight Simulators and Flight training rooms, respectively. --Spencerian 12:42, 1 August 2007 (CDT)
