Mueller is a pilot on the battlestar Galactica.
At one point Mueller did a tour as a Squadron XO.
Saul Tigh suggests him to replace Lee Adama as CAG after his defection to find an ancient tomb, but Commander William Adama dismisses him as "a malcontent" (Home, Part I).
