Christian Vincent is an Emmy-nominated Canadian-American actor, dancer, and choreographer who portrayed a Male Dancer at Mysteries in Caprica's "Ghosts in the Machine".

Career

Vincent was born on February 9 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. He attended Sandwich West Public School in LaSalle, Ontario, and graduated cum laude from Butler University with a BFA degree. He later earned an MFA in dance from the University of California, Irvine in 2015.

Dance

Vincent toured and performed with numerous artists, including Madonna (as dance captain for the Drowned World tour), Prince, Britney Spears, Gloria Estefan, Shakira, Ricky Martin, Stevie Wonder, Chayanne, Mandy Moore, Geri Halliwell, Macy Gray, and Ashanti. He has appeared as a dancer in films including She's All That (1999), The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas (2000), Rent (2005), Starsky & Hutch (2004), and G.I. Joe: Retaliation (2013).

His television dance work includes Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Arrested Development, Baywatch, MADtv, The George Lopez Show, Cold Case, and Dancing with the Stars.

Early Influences

Vincent's mother introduced him to music at an early age, noting his innate response to dance. At age three, he attended an Earth, Wind and Fire concert, dancing so enthusiastically that he dirtied his white socks. His mother enrolled him in dance lessons, inspired by tap dancers Gregory Hines and Sammy Davis Jr.

At age twelve, Vincent attended his first dance convention (Tremaine Dance Convention), where he declared his intention to become a dancer. In the interview, he stated: "The dance convention consisted of faculty members/dance educators that were working with the artists I admired. I instantly knew that I wanted to move to Hollywood and dance."

Acting

Vincent is best known for his role as Ricky Davis in the Logo series Noah's Arc (2005-2006), the follow-up film Noah's Arc: Jumping the Broom (2008), and subsequent franchise entries. He starred in the Hallmark film A Majestic Christmas (2018) and appeared in The Power (2023) on Amazon Prime.

His other television credits include Smallville, Fringe, Continuum, and The Wedding Planners. Film roles include Center Stage: Turn It Up (2008), 500 Days of Summer (2009), and Fallen (2006) as Michael the Archangel.

Choreography

Vincent received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Choreography for Scripted Programming for his work on the CBC/BET series The Porter (2022). This marked the first time BET received a nomination in a major scripted series category.

His other choreography credits include Netflix's Self Made: Inspired by the Life of Madam C.J. Walker (2020), the Lifetime biopic Salt-N-Pepa (2021), and A Christmas Dance Reunion (2021). He served as assistant choreographer on 500 Days of Summer (2009) and dance coach for Sally Hawkins in Guillermo del Toro's Oscar-winning film The Shape of Water (2017).

Vincent has also choreographed for Noah's Arc: Jumping the Broom and the Global television series Canada Sings. He has worked with directors David Fincher and Marc Webb.

Teaching

Vincent served as a professor at the USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance, where he created their Commercial Dance course. He founded Kairos Pro Dance Prep, a program designed to educate young dancers on the business of commercial dance in Los Angeles. Vincent is a faculty member at LA Dance Magic and teaches on dance conventions.

Industry Recognition

Vincent is a Television Academy Governor for the Choreographer's Branch of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
