Talk:Colonial Auxiliary Fleet/Archive 1

Discussion page of Colonial Auxiliary Fleet/Archive 1

Do we have any source for this? Links please. I don't remember any mention of it in B&C. Phalanx 08:44, 9 April 2013 (EDT)

First thing I heard about it as well. I wonder if this is just enthousiasm on the part of the author... -- Geo 12:16, 9 April 2013 (EDT)
It's a general name I used, hence the descriptive term tag, but the inclusion of the civilian ships hiding away in Cylon Space along with the background chatter of the Celestra contacting the Galactica's CIC, I felt it was enough to warrant the creation of the page. It also matches early production notes [1]. To me it's enough to support that the Colonial Fleet was supported by an auxiliary fleet. -- Frylock 13:57, 9 April 2013 (EST)
That's pure speculation. It's enough to warrant a note somewhere saying "probably", but certainly not to start going around saying it as fact. It could equally be the these ships are considered a part of the fleet proper. Phalanx 14:05, 9 April 2013 (EDT)
Those notes are far from a reliable source. They feel more like partially re-written notes starting with a real world navy. Surface Warfare and Air Warfare are meaningless terms when we're talking about space. These notes even say things like " extends the time a Navy battle group can remain at sea". They really don't make a lot of sense. While it would be tempting to treat them in the same way that the map of the twelve colonies or the series bible are these are clearly just some rough notes passed around early in the project (they were still calling the Osiris the "Reliant" at this point) and should not be take as fact. If there's no further discussion on this, I'd like to have this simply redirect to Colonial Fleet (RDM). -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate 16:24, 9 April 2013 (EDT)

I'm cool with that. Phalanx 18:32, 9 April 2013 (EDT)
