Talk:Cities of Caprica/Archive 1

Discussion page of Cities of Caprica/Archive 1

I'm sorry but you were a little overzealous with this; we kind of have all of this information elsewhere and one or two things we could add as notes to others. Just stick around for a week our two and you'll get the flow of everything here (don't stop editing though). What interview did Grace Park ever call something "The Old World"? And if she did I think it was just her own nickname, and she never used it a lot.

We don't need to map out every single thing on screen; I mean we have articles for everything that has a proper name, but just describing the city and such would fall under the Caprica city article, while stuff like in "Tigh Me up" they hid under a bridge is too vague to be meantioned. I'm iffy on cutting out stuff so I'd like other people to handle that, as I think they'd be more delicate than I. Other stuff might fall under the "Caprica" article itself. --The Merovingian (C - E) 13:10, 26 June 2006 (CDT)

I like this article. Recall that we discussed something similar on Talk:Caprica City#Geography of Caprica, to positive effect. --April Arcus 14:12, 26 June 2006 (CDT)
I don't mind if we scrap this article, salvage a few elements and stick them under the Caprica article. I'll gladly help with that process and rewrite the info on the two unnamed cities in the Caprica article. Just know that if you are going to merge this article with others, I'll abstain from voting. Don't mind me though. I am but one opinion in an ocean of them. Feel free to debate this article, and if it gets merged, oh well. The sting of a rejected article fades off after a bit anyway. --Homeworld616 15:11, 26 June 2006 (CDT)
Just read my own article and I realized what you were hinting at, Merovingian. I have a tendancy to over-describe something I'm interested in. I can't exactly help it, but I have a very acute eye for detail and trivial things (that's why I wanted to write articles like this one). That would explain my "overzealous" description of the two unnamed cities and everything in them. If needs be, I can always tone down the descriptions. --Homeworld616 15:30, 26 June 2006 (CDT)

"Overzealous" is just a word I use: I think we can all agree "fiesty" would carry the wrong message in use. Yeah, just try to work out putting this in the Caprica section on Twelve Colonies main page and such. --The Merovingian (C - E) 17:45, 26 June 2006 (CDT)
This is too big for the Twelve Colonies main page, although a small link would be nice. I think an article on "Unnamed cities of Caprica" is warranted - this would exclude Caprica City, Delphi, and Oasis, and provide a logical place for otherwise "anonymous" content. --April Arcus 22:44, 26 June 2006 (CDT)
I can cut-and-paste my two sections on the unnamed cities into a new article, post that and then put a link to it under Caprica's "See also" section right now. --Homeworld616 13:19, 27 June 2006 (CDT)
Done. I have the new article posted and linked to the Caprica section. Go to Unnamed Cities of Caprica. By the way Peter, you didn't mention the fate of the section on Pilgrim Bay. Should I include that city description in the new article or just trash it? --Homeworld616 14:08, 27 June 2006 (CDT)
Well, it does have a name. It could live in its own small article. --April Arcus 14:49, 27 June 2006 (CDT)

Um, if there's a new "Unnamed Cities" page should this one be deleted? --The Merovingian (C - E) 15:54, 27 June 2006 (CDT)

Yep. As soon as all the content from here has been moved to "unnamed cities" and merged with Caprica or whatever, we can pull the trigger on this one. It looks like there's still some unresolved merging though (see Pilgrim Bay reference above). --Steelviper 16:05, 27 June 2006 (CDT)
Pilgrim Bay article has been created by another user. You are free to kill this one --Homeworld616 21:57, 27 June 2006 (CDT)
Pilgrim Bay is a proper noun, so it gets its own article, like Gup's Point. --The Merovingian (C - E) 22:00, 27 June 2006 (CDT)
