Skylab

From Battlestar Wiki, the free, open content Battlestar Galactica encyclopedia and episode guide

Skylab was the United States of America's first space station launched on 14 May 1973 CE, and was decommissioned via deorbit on 11 July 1979 CE.

References to Skylab abound in the Original Series and in its successor, Galactica 1980.

Instrumentation of Lunar Avion makes use of equipment designed for Experiment M131 - Human Vestibular Function[1] aboard Skylab.

The hatch and compartment that led to the bridge's corridor of the basestar that Apollo and Starbuck boarded were re-uses of the set designed after Skylab, made for Six Million Dollar Man, a series that Glen A. Larson had a hand in developing and producing.

Colonel Briggs and his aide discuss the projected crash of an unidentified craft (the Cylon A-B Raider), likening it to Skylab's deorbiting, which resulted in debris spreading over the Indian Ocean and Australia in 1979 (1980: "The Night the Cylons Landed, Part I").
