Invincible was one of three massive Dreadnaught-class warships built by the Twelve Colonies just before the First Cylon War.[1] Like its sister ships, Relentless and Supreme, Invincible was turned against humanity by the Cylons at the start of the war.[2] While Colonial records indicated Invincible was destroyed, it survived and served as the command ship overseeing the secret Cylon experiment at Research Station Omega.[3]

The Cylons' Secret

edit

The Invincible harbored the "Cylons' Secret": its operation was dependent on a living human component integrated into its systems. Chief Nedder, a Colonial Fleet officer captured at the start of the war, was kept in a state of perpetual torture, his biological parts used to operate the ship's functions. This was a perversion of a failsafe system designed by its human creators, which the Cylons were unable to bypass.[4]

Armament

edit

Invincible is armed with energy weapons and carries hundreds of Cylon-piloted Vipers, but does not appear to use the more common Cylon Raiders.[5]
