She lives on her family's troubled farm along with her younger brother, Chris. This farm is saved by Troy and Dillon, the latter of whom she has a crush on.
In an earlier draft of this episode, entitled "Harvest Home," Gloria was named Kate Markham. In that draft, she is noted as being only sixteen, yet her father Ray Markham made it a point to note to Dillon that she was an able cook and that she would make a good wife. This point was later revised in the filmed version, likely owing to the limitations of the child-friendly time slot.Warning: Default sort key "Alonzo, Gloria" overrides earlier default sort key "Alonzo, Chris".
Hector Alonzo is a Hispanic land owner and farmer on Earth circa 1980 CE.
Alonzo is married to Louise, with whom he has two children, Gloria and Chris. Before Alonzo started his own farm, he used to work for John Steadman, who is racist against Hispanics.
Troy and Dillon assist in helping Alonzo's farm become bountiful, despite Steadman's interest in destroying Alonzo's farm, thus replenishing the agricultural resources that the Galactican Fleet requires after the Cylons' destruction of two vital Agro Ships(1980: "Space Croppers").
She emotionally supports both her husband and children during his attempt to revitalize his farm, despite the difficulties dredged up by John Steadman(1980: "Space Croppers").
