Viper 17?[edit]

Ok, I was checking out "Viper 17", when I was redirected to this page. Now, where is it mentioned that this Viper was #17? I'm assuming the Miniseries, but I could be wrong. In the meantime, I'm redirecting the Viper 17 article to Viper 3266, since it's identified on the DRADIS as such. -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate - Battlestar Pegasus 20:37, 23 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

In general, I think the articles need to distinguish more clearly between DRADIS/wireless designations and actual hull numbers. Sometimes they're taken synonymously, thought it isn't always easy to tell which is which. For example it seems that "Viper 17" is a DRADIS designation for Viper 8737. That is even more obvious with Raptor callsigns like 1, 2 and 3 which are obviously just mission dependent callsigns, whereas something like "Raptor 897" might be a genuine hull number (however, in those cases, the articles point out that it's just a temporary designation). -- Serenity 21:30, 23 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
I agree. Obviously, the source of the numbers (whether they are the hull numbers or the DRADIS ones) should always be noted. -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate - Battlestar Pegasus 22:15, 23 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
