Heat Seeking?

How do we know missiles are heat-seeking? I know it's a minor point, but unless there's solid proof, I reckon this should be re-worded. -Madbrood 11:05, 9 January 2007 (CST)

Changed from "heat-seeking" to "guided" .... you're absolutely right. Swallows seem to be more like an ECM package than a flare. JubalHarshaw 11:09, 9 January 2007 (CST)
Thanks :) I'd have changed it myself, but I wasn't sure if there WAS a source or not -Madbrood 11:23, 9 January 2007 (CST)
It appeared that the Cylon missiles tracked the Raptor's engines in the miniseries, but, yes, generalizing this is probably best and more accurate. --Spencerian 11:26, 9 January 2007 (CST)
I just saw this note on the Raptor page: "A close-up of a Raptor display in the Miniseries (timestamp 57 m 41 sec) shows the name and number of these items." If it's true, then they are equipped with chaffs and flares. Just independent (or probably in addition) to the swallows --Serenity 10:08, 10 January 2007 (CST)
