- The episode "Exodus, Part II" has won an Emmy® award for "Outstanding Special Visual Effects For A Series" and is still nominated for "Outstanding Directing For A Drama Series". Together, "Occupation" and "Precipice" have been nominated for "Outstanding Writing For A Drama Series". The Primetime Emmy® Awards will be presented on September 16th.
- NBC Universal, the parent company responsible for Battlestar Galactica, has backed out of renewing its contract with iTunes. However, NBC announced that they will switch their entire lineup to Amazon's Unbox service.

- Nana Visitor, known to genre viewers as Kira Nerys on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, will appear in at least one episode of Battlestar Galactica.
