More actions

The Murdo Frazer Park Caretaker's Cabin is a 600-square-foot log cabin located at 2720 Pemberton Avenue in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, within Murdo Frazer Park near Edgemont Village. It was used as a filming location for Caprica, standing in for Clarice Willow's country cabin.
History of the building
editThe cabin was built in 1950 by Victor Golden at a cost of $3,000. The District of North Vancouver expropriated the land and building from Golden in 1969 and incorporated the property into Murdo Frazer Park. For several decades the cabin served as the park caretaker's residence before the District began renting it out for film and television productions.[external 1]
The cabin was awarded heritage designation by the District of North Vancouver in 2018, protecting it from demolition. According to a report in the North Shore News, it rents for $2,500 per day and averages 12 film and television productions per year, generating $76,000 in revenue in 2019.[external 2] Productions filmed at the cabin have included MacGyver in the early 1990s, Stargate SG-1, The Flash, Once Upon a Time, Virgin River, and Caprica.[external 3]
