The Milky Way galaxy is the name given by the humans on Earth to their home galaxy.

The Super Scouts apparently know specific information regarding the galaxy; an older male Super Scout corrects Marcy by saying that the number of stars is 114 billion, and not the 110 billion she mentions during her presentation (1980: "The Night the Cylons Landed, Part I").

Notes

  • There is some confusion as to whether or not the Cyrannus galaxy is in fact the same as the Milky Way.
  • As of early 2006, the Milky Way galaxy is estimated to contain 200 million stars[1]. This number may be expected to double in size, if small stars predominate[2].
