A nugget selected to fill out the ranks after a disastrous deck accident killed thirteen experienced pilots. She flew with Lee Adama during a raid on a Cylon tylium-manufacturing base (The Hand of God), and was killed during the operation.

Upon review of the footage, it looks like Stepchild had severe damage to her Viper, shown by the sparks, but since we don't see her Viper explode, it is possible that she survived.
