Using this template on the article page itself, would still count towards "Main Space" article count. So this is unnecessary. Shane (T - C - E) 10:27, 7 March 2007 (CST)

It's supposed to go on the Talk page of the late article. --Catrope 10:39, 7 March 2007 (CST)
Only if your in agreement with method 1. The whole namespace one even the talk page gets axed. Shane (T - C - E) 10:45, 7 March 2007 (CST)
This template is intended as some sort of a compromise between methods 1 and 3. The article is deleted, the talkp page is moved to the Deleted Discussion: mainspace (or Deleted talk: if we're gonna have a Deleted: for temporarily undeleted articles) and this tag goes on the original talk page. Wasn't even my idea, but Spencerian's:
We may want to come up with a template for the discussion page that says, "This article (Foo) has been previously deleted. For a discussion of why it was deleted see: Delete Discussion Archives:Foo".

That Spencerian is a really smart dude. I'm tellin' ya. I agree that if we went with option #3 we'd definitely need to give some though to how the frak people would find the archived discussion in a different namespace. --Steelviper 11:23, 7 March 2007 (CST)
Programming lesson #1: keep in mind the average user isn't nearly as smart as you are and doesn't know your program like the back of their pocket (like you do). :P --Catrope 12:09, 7 March 2007 (CST)
