According to series composer Bear McCreary's official website blog, "the season premiere (of season 3) will air as a two hour movie."
A Season 3 teaser will be shown during the premiere of Eureka on Sci-Fi Channel Tuesday, July 18 at 9/8C.
Season 3 will premiere in the US on Friday, October 6. [1]
Battlestar Galactica is nominated for three Emmy Awards by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Nominated categories are Outstanding Costumes (for Lay Down Your Burdens, Part 2), Outstanding Single-Camera Sound Mixing For A Series (for Scattered), and Outstanding Special Visual Effects For A Series (for Resurrection Ship, Part 2).

Jane Espenson, a regular writer on Buffy the Vampire Slayer who also wrote an episode for Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, will write an episode in season 3.
The web-series spin-off will be called Battlestar Galactica: The Resistance, and will last ten episodes. ^[1]
