Troy (RDM)

For the Galactica 1980 character, see: Troy (1980).

Troy was a Colonial mining settlement on or in the vicinity of Aerelon that suffered a cataclysm, killing a majority of the people who were there at the time. It was not one of the Twelve Colonies themselves, but a minor settlement said to within their sphere of influence (Flesh and Bone).

The copy of Cylon agent Number Eight known as Sharon Valerii believed that she and her parents, Abraham and Catherine Valerii, had lived on Troy (Kobol's Last Gleaming, Part II, Flesh and Bone). In actual fact she had no parents.

According to the fictional backstory provided for Valerii by the Cylons, her mother was still alive at the time of her graduation. Since she was supposedly killed in the disaster at Troy, this puts the event within a fairly recent time frame. However, in the Miniseries, she said her parents died when she was little.

Greek Mythology

In Greek mythology, in Homer's Iliad, Troy was a city and the site of the Trojan War.
