- On July 27, 2006, Ronald D. Moore made a new entry in his blog [1] at Sci-Fi.com. It contains some very interesting news.
- According to series composer Bear McCreary's[2] blog, the first two episodes of season 3 will premiere back-to-back as a two hour TV movie.
- Season 3 will premiere in the US on Friday, October 6.[3]
- Battlestar Galactica is nominated for three Emmy Awards by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Nominated categories are Outstanding Costumes (for Lay Down Your Burdens, Part 2), Outstanding Single-Camera Sound Mixing For A Series (for Scattered), and Outstanding Special Visual Effects For A Series (for Resurrection Ship, Part 2).
- SCI FI Announces a BSG spin off prequel series called Caprica.[4]
- Jane Espenson, a regular writer on Buffy the Vampire Slayer who also wrote an episode for Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, will write an episode in season 3.
- The web-series spin-off will be called Battlestar Galactica: The Resistance, and will last ten episodes. [5]
