Raptor 1 was a Raptor from Battlestar Galactica. Its identification number may be an abbreviation, as in the case of Raptor 275.

It was one of three Raptors sent to survey the planet believed to be Kobol.

After entering Kobol's orbit, a phalanx of Cylon Raiders happened upon them suddenly. Raptor 3 was destroyed in orbit via collision with a Raider, Raptor 2 left via FTL to Galactica, and Raptor 1 was damaged as a result of the fracas - shot once, sending it into an uncontrolled counter-clockwise spin, and then a second time, breaching the crew cabin and killing the pilot, Karma. Crashdown managed to crashland near an overgrown field, near ruins presumed to be from humanity pre-Colonization.
