I propose that you voluntarily halt your editing until Friday or Saturday of this week.  I would rather get your consent on this and not resort to an administrative action, but I am prepared to put a temporary block on the account.  In the interest of ''quality'' writing on this Wiki, I hope you understand. -- [[User:BlueResistance|BlueResistance]] 23:22, 11 August 2014 (EDT)

I'm finished reviewing your contributions and making (or starting to make) revisions where necessary, and I can remove the block.  I tried explaining the rationale for my revisions in the summary line, but if you would like more detailed explanations on a limited number of them, ask and I will do so when I can.  As I noted before, part of the problem was the astonishingly high volume of your edits.  ''Slow down'' and take time to do them in the future, not only to give others a chance to respond, but also so that you can more carefully review and fix your own work before posting it.
I tried preserving as much of your writing as possible, but in quite a few cases, it wasn't possible at all.  You've been trying to contribute to articles that were basically finished years ago, and if they needed anything, it was only a few minor tweaks and polishing and not significant additions.  The re-imagined BSG has been covered thoroughly on this wiki; you're digging where there's almost nothing left to dig for.  If you are looking to do a substantial amount of writing, I recommend working on story summaries for the last five episodes of ''Caprica'' and for ''Blood and Chrome''--those are major gaps that need filling. -- [[User:BlueResistance|BlueResistance]] 01:13, 18 August 2014 (EDT)

Welcome to Battlestar Wiki!

Welcome to the Wiki, WarGrowlmon15. Feel free to tell us about yourself on your user page. Before you get started on other edits, please read the Standards and Conventions, which details the policies we use in editing pages (this differs from many other wikis in its particular use of verb tense, abbreviations, formatting, and the like). If you need help in learning how to use the MediaWiki tools supported here, you can check out the tutorial and the wiki markup code pages for assistance.

Please read the articles "What is Battlestar Wiki" and "What Battlestar Wiki is Not." This important information details what contributions are acceptable in this encyclopedia.

We encourage you to participate in any projects on Battlestar Wiki, which work to enhance a particular subject or extension of the wiki. These include the Original Series Article Development Project and several language translations of Battlestar Wiki. If you have a new idea for a new project, visit the Think Tank, where we hash out large-scale ideas before implementing them.

Also, if you have any questions or suggestions you wish to offer, please feel free to do so either on an article's talk page that's relevant to the subject, the Wikipedian Quorum or the Administrators' noticeboard. Remember to sign your posts on any talk pages using four tildes (~~~~)!

We look forward to your contributions to the community! --Shane (T - C - E) 01:09, 28 October 2006 (CDT)

purpose of the Question section in episode articles

I know that it seems counter-inuitive, but the question area is only for answers provided in actual episodes. When answers materialize in future episodes, they can be linked. There is a policy in place against random speculation, even if some of it does make sense. Speculation - to a certain degree - belongs to Analysis --Serenity 13:20, 11 November 2006 (CST)

Standards and conventions

You should take a look at BW:SAC for some of the formatting rules we use here. For example, unlike most sites, we do not capitalize the words "basestar" or "battlestar", treating them as general ship types instead. Military ships are italicized and don't have definite articles. Periods go after episode cites. Small things like that, and you don't have to get every little detail right, but since you're doing many edits it would be easier if you adhered more closely to them :) --Serenity 01:32, 26 November 2007 (CST)

Questions

Please don't answer questions directly in the question sections like that. You can of course write a lengthier reply, but then it needs to be moved to Analysis. That's really appropriate if the issue is more complicated or dealt with in a deleted scene. Otherwise, we usually only link to the episode that contains the answer. The question on Three's identity is a perfect example of a question that isn't really open, and belongs to Notes or Analysis instead. -- Serenity 20:22, 16 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Your current edits to Number One

WarGrowlmon, I see the need for the first "Given . . ." paragraph in the Analysis section; I will revise it rather than just deleting it. Unfortunately, the prose in the second "Given . . ." paragraph is very difficult to read. Please post a revised paragraph that is clearer. -- BlueResistance 13:10, 7 August 2014 (EDT)

Voluntary pause, or possible temporary block

WarGrowlmon15, as a Battlestar Wiki administrator, I am formally requesting that you stop making edits for the next several days. You have been putting a massive amount of information onto the Wiki that has to be reviewed. Some of it is valuable, but as I have pointed out in my revisions, your language frequently needs to be cleaned up, and on more than one occasion, the content you have been adding has been incorrect or inappropriate. One recent example of this is what you called the "Skirmish in the Delphi Museum"; it's a hand-to-hand fight between two people, and not something that would rise to the standard of a battle, or require its own separate page. Readers of this Wiki--myself included--need time to review what you have done so far, but the rate at which you are adding content isn't allowing the rest of us to catch up.

I propose that you voluntarily halt your editing until Friday or Saturday of this week. I would rather get your consent on this and not resort to an administrative action, but I am prepared to put a temporary block on the account. In the interest of quality writing on this Wiki, I hope you understand. -- BlueResistance 23:22, 11 August 2014 (EDT)

Removing block, and future edits

I'm finished reviewing your contributions and making (or starting to make) revisions where necessary, and I can remove the block.
