I know this is an old discussion, but the official website still has this device classified as a "resurrection chamber", and although the word is commonly used to refer to a room, it can also refer to something like this: "a compartment or enclosed space; cavity: a chamber of the heart" (dictionary.com). I know it's not exactly important, but the information has certainly lasted and it came from a reputable-enough source. So yeah, I think we should change it. --Sauron18 06:31, 7 July 2009 (UTC)

:Syfy (looks too much like "syphillis" to me) often has error in their information. Since the device has never been named in-show, it's appropriate to use the an official source. At the same time, I don't think we need to get all zealous and change every instance. If one doesn't exist, let's just add a redirect for the same term. "Chamber" may be what Syfy uses, but the term seems inaccurate to describe a small space as opposed to a larger one. We can use either term synonymously, as we do with basestar and baseship.--Spencerian 22:32, 7 July 2009 (UTC)

With that, I'd favor the semantically smaller "tank". Change Name[edit]

Hey, I was checking the BSG glossary at the official site [1], and I noticed that this is called a "Resurrection Chamber". Should we change the name? --Sauron18 19:35, 13 September 2006 (CDT)

I've gone ahead and proposed the move with the move tag. Matthew 13:24, 13 July 2007 (CDT)
To me, "chamber" refers to the room, while "tank" is the tub. That it's defined as "liquid-filled chamber" there sounds a bit weird. --Serenity 13:27, 13 July 2007 (CDT)
The first thing I personally thought of was a tank tank (i.e. for combat). Hehe. What about "Resurrection tub"? Matthew 13:29, 13 July 2007 (CDT)
The article specifically talks about resurrection tanks/tubs, not the chamber(room). Perhaps their should be a separate article about the chamber the tanks are in... Veepz 13:42, 13 July 2007 (CDT)

I know this is an old discussion, but the official website still [2] has this device classified as a "resurrection chamber", and although the word is commonly used to refer to a room, it can also refer to something like this: "a compartment or enclosed space; cavity: a chamber of the heart" (dictionary.com). I know it's not exactly important, but the information has certainly lasted and it came from a reputable-enough source. So yeah, I think we should change it. --Sauron18 06:31, 7 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
