Richard Gibbs is the composer of the soundtrack to the Battlestar Galactica Miniseries.

Gibbs is a very accomplished composer of many feature films and television shows, including Queen of the Damned (2002); Doctor Dolittle (1998); Say Anything... (1989); The Simpsons Christmas Special (1989); and The Simpsons TV episodes (1989) (working with fellow former Oingo-Boingo member and "Simpsons" music theme creator Danny Elfman, a man with many TV and feature film composing credits of his own).

Gibbs has also performed or collaborated with many notable pop and rock musicians such as Chaka Khan and Melissa Etheridge.

Gibbs chose not to devote himself to composing the music for the new TV series itself, but did contribute some original work in a selected episodes of Season 1, leaving Bear McCreary as the full-time music composer for the Re-imagined Series.
