Sky One is one of British Sky Broadcasting's entertainment channels in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland. BSkyB is owned by News Corporation.
Sky One has the rights to air Season One to Three of the re-imagined series of Battlestar Galactica.
The Miniseries was a joint funded pilot produced by the following TV companies:
And distributed on a variety of TV channels including Sky One (UK) and SciFi Channel (US).
After the success of the Miniseries a 13 episode series was commissioned and produced by the same companies as the pilot. the first episode, 33, was broadcast in the United Kingdom on 18th October 2004, 8:00 PM on Sky One, three months before its premiere in the United States on 14th January 2005.
From Season Two onwards Sky is not a major financial backer of the series but it still credited due to its investments with set and pre production early in the series.
