Greetings, Xlynx, and welcome to Battlestar Wiki! I hope you enjoy your stay with us and am looking forward to your contributions to the Wiki! Why not begin by telling us a bit about yourself on your own user page?
According to this discussion thread, there was only one off-hand reference to "Jupiter class" in the entire book.  Since the book is a licensed product and one of the co-writers was science advisor Kevin Grazer, the name deserves some recognition, but "quasi-canonical" like the Battlestar Galactica Map of the 12 Colonies, which was also co-written by Grazer.  Beyond canon status, the name "Jupiter class" is so rare that it's doubtful anyone would type it in while looking for information about that type of ship, so a redirect really isn't necessary.  The note near the bottom of the article should be sufficient. -- BlueResistance 19:22, 26 October 2014 (EDT)

As you may already know, Battlestar Wiki covers all the Battlestar Galactica series from past to present, in addition to authorized merchandise. Presently, we don't cover fan fiction, but our sister-site, Battlestar Pegasus (which will soon open) shall do so. We're also not really a discussion site, but we do have an ever growing Battlestar Forum where people can discuss the various shows and non-BSG topics as well!

To get started on the wiki, we suggest that you check out our tutorial, experiment in the sandbox (a test editing area for those learning wiki code), and review some of our basic policies (which have important differences from other SF wikis).

Of course, if you have any questions, comments, or concerns, you are more than welcome to bring them up at the Chiefs' noticeboard (which is frequented by the administrators of the Wiki) and at the Galactipedian's Quorum (which is the hub for contributors, who are called "Galactipedians").

Furthermore, if you don't wish to see the ads, then please consider upgrading your account to a paid membership, which costs only $10 USD a year and helps support the wiki financially.

Thank you for joining us! Hope to see you soon!

"Jupiter Class"
