Berkos has a long career in the sound effects field of over 35 years, 300 motion pictures, and over 1,000 television shows. He got his start working as a live radio sound effects man in the 1940s. Inspired by Dore Schary’s book "Portrait of a Movie," a book in which sound editing was described as "the place where the creative process begins," Berkos' apprenticeship at Universal Studios was a fruitful one.

In addition to Battlestar, Berkos' numerous film and TV credits include

  • The Sting
  • The Great Waldo Pepper
  • Slap Shot
  • Airport
  • The Hindenberg
  • 77 Sunset Strip
