Nice work on that small edits to episode articles. That really needs to be done sometimes. But please don't use American punctuation rules for episode titles. The quotation marks are just there to distinguish the titles from surrounding sentences or other titles and aren't quotes as such. Placing commas and periods inside there just looks odd. In any case, even if we wanted to change that, we'd have to change ''all'' articles. So leaving that as it is is consistent with the entire wiki. Otherwise, American comma placement is fine and should even be the norm. -- [[User:Serenity|Serenity]] 14:18, 13 August 2008 (UTC)

Welcome to Battlestar Wiki![edit]

Greetings, Passitivity, and welcome to Battlestar Wiki! I hope you enjoy your stay with us and am looking forward to your contributions to the Wiki! Why not begin by telling us a bit about yourself on your own user page?

As you may already know, Battlestar Wiki covers all the Battlestar Galactica series from past to present, in addition to authorized merchandise. Presently, we don't cover fan fiction, but our sister-site, Battlestar Pegasus (which will soon open) shall do so. We're also not really a discussion site, but we do have an ever growing Battlestar Forum where people can discuss the various shows and non-BSG topics as well!

To get started on the wiki, we suggest that you check out our tutorial, experiment in the sandbox (a test editing area for those learning wiki code), and review some of our basic policies (which have important differences from other SF wikis).

Of course, if you have any questions, comments, or concerns, you are more than welcome to bring them up at the Chiefs' noticeboard (which is frequented by the administrators of the Wiki) and at the Galactipedian's Quorum (which is the hub for contributors, who are called "Galactipedians").

Furthermore, if you don't wish to see the ads, then please consider upgrading your account to a paid membership, which costs only $10 USD a year and helps support the wiki financially.

Thank you for joining us! Hope to see you soon! --Catrope(Talk to me or e-mail me) 13:49, 6 December 2007 (CST)

Punctuation[edit]

Nice work on that small edits to episode articles. That really needs to be done sometimes. But please don't use American punctuation rules for episode titles. The quotation marks are just there to distinguish the titles from surrounding sentences or other titles and aren't quotes as such. Placing commas and periods inside there just looks odd. In any case, even if we wanted to change that, we'd have to change all articles. So leaving that as it is is consistent with the entire wiki. Otherwise, American comma placement is fine and should even be the norm. -- Serenity 14:18, 13 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Duly noted, I'll keep that in mind in the future. I must have missed the rule on the Standards and Conventions page. -- Passitivity 16:51, 13 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
