The '''super basestar''', as termed by Major {{Alt|Apollo|TOS-DE}}, is the newest capital ship in Cylon war machine as introduced in {{Alt|7358}}. 

Its introduction to [[The Fleet (TOS-DE alternate)|the Colonials' rag-tag fugitive fleet]] comes after [[Yahren|yahrens]] of respite, and is revealed to be part of a larger plan to ensnare and decimate the remnants of humanity by exploiting their desire to locate {{Alt|Earth|TOS-DE}}. 

== A Dangerous Fleet Killer ==
Major {{Alt|Apollo|TOS-DE}} and two newly-minted {{Alt|Warriors|TOS-DE}}, [[Neats]] and [[Zurel]], discover the super basestar in orbit of a planet whose coordinates are alleged to be Earth's, as [[Psionic|divined]] by Countess [[Sephoni]]. This results in [[Encounter of the Super Basestar|the first direct and disastrous altercation]] with the Cylons, unmasking their renewed offensive against the survivors ({{Comics|doa|2}}). 

Against Commander {{Alt|Adama|TOS-DE}}'s explicit orders, Captains {{Alt|Starbuck|TOS-DE}} and {{Alt|Athena|TOS-DE}} bring Countess [[Sephoni]] aboard a captured {{Alt|Cylon transport|TOS-DE}}, so that she may divine access codes to allow infiltration into the super basestar to [[Rescue of Apollo|rescue Apollo]], whom the Cylons rescued and nursed back to heath ({{Comics|doa|3}}-{{Comics|doa|4|short=y}}). 

By rescuing Apollo the Fleet became imperiled, as the super basestar was able to locate and launch its [[Ambush by the Super Basestar|ambush of the Fleet]], which ends with Sephoni divining a weakness that circumvents the ship's overlapping shielding and allows Apollo to destroy the ship with a [[fusion missile]] ({{Comics|doa|6}}).

== Specifications ==

The ship contains multiple phalanxes of {{Alt|Raider|TOS-DE|Raiders}}, far in excess of standard {{Alt|basestar|TOS-DE}}s, and are stowed on racks that allow the ships to be hung for rapid deployment ({{Comics|doa|3}}). 

As with all Cylon technology, the ship can be controlled from any point within due to its unified operating system, allowing Apollo's rescue party to enter in command instructions into the ship's data core. This exploit allows the rescue party to escape ({{Comics|doa|4}}).

For reasons unknown, the ship features life support and gravity that allows humans to exist without need for [[Breather|individual support equipment]] or [[spacesuit]], as well as medical labs capable of restoring biological beings' health, as was done with Major {{Alt|Apollo|TOS-DE}} ({{Comics|doa|4}}). 

== Notes ==

* The racks holding the phalanxes of {{Alt|Raider|TOS-DE|Raiders}} within the ship's many bays are nods to the [[Re-imagined Series]]' [[Resurrection Ship]] design.
* The super baseship is a mash-up of not only the standard baseship (found center mass) used in the [[Original Series]], but with the original [[Ralph McQuarrie]] "spinning top" designs planted upon the top and bottom of the baseship in the center.
