The '''"''Wedge''" type''' also known as a '''"''Defender''" type'''<ref>{{bsgwiki term}}</ref> is a support vessel in service with the [[Colonial Fleet]] by the tenth year of the [[First Cylon War]]. At some point during the War, one of these ships is reported destroyed by Cylon forces, and hidden away withing Cylon controlled space. It later participates in a successful [[Ghost Fleet Offensive|Colonial Offensive]] against the Cylons ("[[Blood and Chrome]]"). 

After the [[Fall of the Colonies]], two of these ships [[Battle of Ragnar Anchorage|escape]] with ''[[Galactica (TRS)|Galactica]]'', though it is unknown if they share the same military roles, as ''Galactica'' is initially the only known military vessel to have survived the attacks. However, at least one ship in the fleet, ''[[Adriatic]]'', was known to be armed with limited ship to ship missiles, but this vessel was never explicitly seen ([[TRS]]: "[[Home, Part I]]"). 

These ships are later abandoned and scuttled, along with the rest of the fleet, after the discovery of a new world the Colonials later named [[Earth_(RDM)#A_New_Earth|Earth]] ([[TRS]]: "[[Daybreak, Part II]]").
