== Color scheme ==

Joe,

First of all, kudos on starting the wiki!  This will be an excellent resource and community, and I'm ecstatic to see it catch on so quickly.
The color scheme, while definitely striking, can be a little hard on the eyes for some people, myself included.  Changing the skin under preferences helps with the white-on-black text, but all the boilerplate tables retain their FG and BG colors (I guess they're controlled by the individual templates, not by CSS).  Is there any way around this problem?  I don't know enough about Wiki protocol to determine whether templates can also be driven by CSS.  If not, perhaps a discussion should be started about modifying the color palette altogether.  I personally would love to see an option for a more Colonial-Fleet-themed palette, with shades of gunmetal gray.

: I bet they can be CSS-ified. Rather than giving them colors in the template directly, give them classes or ids and let the CSS file sort out what colors those mean. I was wondering, since I know a thing or two (maybe three, but no more) about CSS, how you felt about handing out the .css files to be modified so we could use classes and ids rather than explicit colors for the various templates and boxes we've got around. : I've been moseying around the extensions on the MediaWiki & Meta sites and happened upon this one as well; I even tried it on a test wiki I loaded on the server a few days ago.  Unfortunately, it only works on the current unstable version of 1.6. (We use the 1.5 series, and I am not comfortable with loading anything that is in alpha stages at this time.) Joe, I've uploaded a smaller version of he BSG wiki image, so you can use it on the project pages. I would hope that the Battlestar Wiki strives to be free of slander so I am requesting you remove the parts of Merv's posting in this thread:

Where he claims that I called Jim's workplace ( I did not and he admits he was "voicing it as a possibility as I have my suspicions. It's actually probably nothing.")

Where he claims I PM'd him an abusive message (I have never PM'd him.)

Where he claims I expressed a desire to "anally rape" him (I certainly have never expressed such a desire.)

Where he claims I sent YOU a threatening e-mail (I'm sure you realise this is false.)

These claims are clearly slander and have no place on your website.  The fact that he made up a fictitious PM ((the PM "yeah I am Ribzy you frakhead and I'm going to crucify you!", was a dead giveaway...) Should tell you the depths he will sink to support his slander.
