Welcome to Battlestar Wiki!
Welcome to the Wiki, Jcnventura. Feel free to tell us about yourself on your user page. Before you get started on other edits, please read the Battlestar Wiki:Standards and Conventions, which details the policies we use in editing pages (this differs from many other wikis in consistent use of phrasing, abbreviations, format, and the like).
Also, if you have any questions or suggestions you wish to offer, please feel free to do so either on your user talk page, the Wikipedian Quorum or Administrators' noticeboard. Remember to sign your posts on any talk pages using four tildes (~~~~)! We look forward to your contributions to the community!
In addition, I had to rollback your recent edit of Galactica 1980. While it definitely spiffed up the joint, we can't take content wholesale from Wikipedia due to incompatible licenses (we use Creative Commons, they use GFDL). If you can re-enter the content in your own words, you're welcome to introduce similar material. Thanks. --Steelviper 12:25, 16 March 2006 (CST)
- But it is so obvious that the material that started the article is the same as in the Wikipedia article at the time. How was it possible to copy it over then and not now? -- Jcnventura 13:03, 16 March 2006 (CST)
- That's a good point. If it was copied straight from the wikipedia, then by all rights we should blank the whole thing. I think part of the resemblence comes from the fact that Mokwella wrote most of both our version and the wiki version. The resemblence is disturbing, though. I wouldn't mind seeing the whole thing rewritten if you've got some good sources. We don't get too many 1980 contributors around here. Also, if you have or know of any pics of "Col. Boomer", I'd love to get that off my "todo" list. --Steelviper 13:16, 16 March 2006 (CST)
- Actually, I was wrong. The two pages had completely different origins, but sort of 'unified' at some point. And they are now diverging. I will see what I can do to re-insert the changes. The most important one is the mention to the 'Cleopatra' episode that they were shooting at the time of cancellation. I would like to do an article on that, as well as the other 'unshot scripts' that are so abundant on the Internet. As to the pics of 'Col. Boomer'. I do have Galactica 1980 in VHS tapes (not that I am proud of that...). But I have no way to get them into my computer. I will try to pause the video on my TV (a LCD one) and hope that I can take a picture of it of 'decent' quality. -- Jcnventura 13:31, 16 March 2006 (CST)
- That's the only source that I'm aware of, outside of occasional airings on Scifi.com. I find Mokwella's site when I was searching for 1980 DVD's. Part of me is glad that they don't exist. The ideal way to capture VCR would be a video capture device, but at this point something is better than nothing. (I would have went ahead and created the Boomer (1980) article if I had anything to go on, but he's not really mentioned much in Mokwella's episode summaries.) Glad to have you aboard! --Steelviper 13:42, 16 March 2006 (CST)

Col. Boomer
Great shots of Col. Boomer! Thanks! I'll get the Boomer (1980) page going, though I don't have much in the way of info to fill it out with. Hopefully if I put in the structure you can fill in a couple of paragraphs. --Steelviper 08:02, 20 March 2006 (CST)
- Did Boomer really do anything in 1980...? To my recollection, most of Boomer's work occured in "The Return of Starbuck". Though it's (obviously) been a while since I watched 1980 -- the last time I saw an episode was in 98 or 99 (prior to the moon blasting out of Earth orbit). ;-) -- Joe Beaudoin 10:02, 20 March 2006 (CST)
- In switching out the Boomer (TOS) to the Boomer (1980)'s, it appears that it is mostly a cameo-type role. He seems to make appearances alongside Adama, and that's about it. This is, of course, secondhand knowledge though. --Steelviper 10:11, 20 March 2006 (CST)
Galactica Books
Wow! I had no idea that all of these existed. I had read references to the "novelizations" in some of the episode guides (usually as notes, since they're generally not canon), but had never seen them. It'd be neat if they noted the differences between episode it novelized. --Steelviper 13:18, 22 March 2006 (CST)
- The information is available in some places. I have read the Portuguese edition of these (a long, long time ago in a galaxy far away), so I certainly do not wish to read them again. If I get some sources on the Net detailing them, I will see if I can rewrite them to place them here. -- Jcnventura 13:23, 22 March 2006 (CST)
Although I haven't read them, I'm excited about the prospect of adding these to the wiki. Can you tell me anything about the various continuities at work? That is, how many book continuities are there, which incorporate Galactica: 1980, and which do not? --April Arcus 16:19, 22 March 2006 (CST)
ISBN
I added it to the tmeplate so u just need to put in the code. --Shane (T - C - E) 14:39, 22 March 2006 (CST)
- Wow, it just works! Well done and thanks! -- 14:42, 22 March 2006 (CST)
