My real name is Elwood Goulart, but I am known by my nickname, Woody. My username at this Wiki is "Treko." I am the author of Trekology a nonfiction site that grew out of my primary source research into Gene Roddenberry and Star Trek.
I was privileged to have spent time with Roddenberry in the 1970s and 1980s. In the context of having studied Roddenberry, Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica TOS for my doctoral dissertation, today I am someone who greatly respects what Ronald D. Moore has accomplished. RDM has learned and built upon the many lessons of Star Trek when it comes to embedding persuasive idea content within series television storytelling and fictional characters.
Presently, I am conducting research regarding RDM and Battlestar Galactica for a chapter in a forthcoming 2007 nonfiction book about science fiction and politics.
